Qube has officially opened a new bulk storage facility in Picton, Western Australia, strengthening its capacity in the region. Built in partnership with Q Design + Construct (QDC), the facility can store over 300,000 tonnes of bulk material for export. This expansion significantly increases Picton’s under-cover storage capacity to 30,000 square metres, enhancing logistics efficiency for the area.
The facility will be a key asset for Iluka Resources, a leading Australian mining company, supporting its operations across WA. Qube Bulk Director Todd Emmert highlighted that the development will not only boost trade but also create employment opportunities in the Bunbury area, where Qube already employs over 400 people. Completed in just 4.5 months, the facility seamlessly integrates with existing storage infrastructure, marking a major step forward for the region’s import and export capabilities.
